Include me in on Lawsuit! Of course the 3 year protection plan I purchased through Home depot expired 6 months ago and I can’t afford the repair. I filed a complaint with LG and asked if the new replacement compressor had the same design defect. And I replace a ton of lg compressors. My 2 year old LG fridge was pronounced dead this Wednesday. Another motherboard!! After only 2 1/2 years our refrigerator’s compressor went out. However the LG service guy felt bad for me and after telling me my frig was never going to work again he did not charge me labor. com. I’M IN. How do I included myself in this class action. I have never had aNY whirlpool product threat needed a repair. It’s only 3 years old. I think we should all sue for our money back!! Called them and another week has went by and we are told it is not fixable. The longer you have had your refrigerator, the greater the potential repair cost, says The Money Pit. I even called an appliance repair man in my area and he said this fridge is made by LG (which I had no idea), I bought it with the impression I was getting a top of the line Kenmore (lasts forever) this repairman told me to be prepared to have nothing but problems with this refrigerator, that it will be endless repairs. Food was gone and floor damaged due to water leak. Our LG side by side door in door refrigerator stopped cooling one week ago. Here we are, January 21, and I am still waiting for the second repair. I have a $2700 junk sitting in my kitchen. August 9th the LG compressor failed and displayed error codes. LG insists they have their tech look at the frig but the soonest a tech could be here to replace what they assume is the compressor is Sept 24th. With out my husband. We ban Huwaie but allow this despicable corporation to loot the wallets of the unfortunate purchaser. We have the exact story- our Sears Kenmore Elite refrigerator made by LG stopped working Nov. 17 2018. They are trying the evaporator next, waiting for it to arrive. we paid for the defective refridgerator, the $90. Bought my LG fridge, Dec 2015. If you have an old refrigerator, you may want to invest in an Energy Star rated refrigerator just to cut back on electricity usage and costs. I contacted LG through chat on their website today. Also, I have LG washer & dryer. 2017 I got a light for filter replacement, I got a new filter but the ice maker never worked again. I don’t know what to do and they are so rude and when you call you are routed to a call center in the Phillapeans. We paid top dollar for quality and got crap!!! Less than 5 years of me first buying the LG fridge with a inverter linear compressor it stopped producing cold. I see that the class action law suit was dropped, but did not see a reason it was dropped! I am sure it will be longer though as I still don’t know what they plan to do, and will then have to wait for parts and an appointment time at their extremely backed up warranty repair contractor company/ and or another fridge. He said that the new compressor is designed no differently from the old and would also fail prematurely. Service tech told us “these LG compressors go bad all the time”! LG customer service arranged a service call from a company that does not cover my area. And our neighbors had the same thing happen to them. Was told the compressor is bad and the parts are now on back order with no date when it will be in. If it goes out again another 435.00, LG should own this, not the customer! They determined defective Linnear Compressor. We have dual ice makers too. This is a counter depth Frig. Why was the class action dismissed? Came back and said the Sears repairman didnât install it right so that he has to start over. Tons of food were in the dumpster truck. 6 months after our repair in March the compressor has gone again. The service tech added that it could take time to be able to get my refrigerator working because parts were hard to get. How does he not have it?! Paid $2800 for LG build for Kenmore refrigirator. Every refrigerator using this style of compressor is defective ! A new thermostat might start as low as $100 , while a new compressor can run up to $450 . Dealing with this issue since May 17th. The only option was to buy from Ebay with limited or no warranty for over $300 plus at least another $400-$500 labor with also no warranty. Paid $2700.00 for this mess. So, so frustrating! They expect you to he without a fridge for more than a month! We bought our LG 795.74305.810 at sears in 11/2018 We had a warranty repair for non-compressor related issues with ice accumulating on the cooling fans within 6 months. Returned from vacation and found that the compressor on our new LG refrigerator had gone out resulting in spoiled food and an expensive repair bill. Failed compressor for over a month, still waiting for replacement parts. Great Service! In PHX with 6 million people just one warranty service co. Two week wait, then who knows how long a repair may last? My LG refrigerator stopped working in September 2017 while we were out of town and all the food spoiled. his personal opinion is this a result of them trying to reverse engineer products that other companies painstakingly engineered/then REengineered over and over updating improving LEARNING the hard way over many many decades and….but for LG? Cost me $500 plus the cost of all of the food in my fridge and freezer. My Kenmore Elite # 795.72483.410. Lots of spoiled food, ruined holidays, flooded kitchen, and past the 1 yr warranty!! All our food for Coronavirus is trashed. Itâs just as difficult to get service on a Samsung. Our GE lasted 11 years before that with no issue.
